Bertus Fourie, the winemaker behind Barista, is the originator of the “coffee-styled” Pinotage. He thought the wine should be named Barista since this is the title of someone who has an exceptional level of skill in making espresso. A deeply colored wine with luscious tannins, Barista’s coffee character is created through additional toasting of the barrels, resulting in intense flavors of rich coffee and chocolate, with vanilla throughout.
A very modern wine that’s perfect on its own or with red meat.
