Groot Constantia

Founded in the late 17th century, Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa. Along the way the winery supplied wine to Napoleon Bonaparte while he was exiled on St. Helena, and the estate has become recognized for its high-quality red wines, including shiraz and merlot, and its sauvignon blanc wine. Since 1993 it has been owned by the Groot Constantia Trust, which preserves the cultural heritage of the estate.
