Croze Viognier

Croze Viognier

Croze Viognier

Tasting Notes:

Croze Viognier is a complex, yet elegant wine with aromas of white flowers and rich stone fruit. One the palate this wine shows peach and apricot notes and a subtle minerality that adds depth. The finish is crisp and elegant creating an experience that reflects the Croze philosophy of balance and finesse.

Vineyard Notes:

Grapes for our 2013 CROZE Suzanne K came from Phoenix Phamily Vineyard, a one acre parcel in Napa Valley's southern growing region near Silverado Trail, This tiny, one acre vineyard, yields 2 tons of fruit. It is owned and farmed by the Phoenix Phamily. This is a sweet spot for Viognier which benefits from the "chimney effect" of San Pablo Bay. Like the French Mistrals of France's Burgundy region, the cool breezes and morning fog provide a cooler climate, ideal for these tender grapes.

Winemaker Notes:

This wine is fermented in stainless tanks at a constant temperature of 55. This protects the delicate floral aromas of the Viognier grape. After a month long fermentation, the wine was racked off the lees and further aged in tank.

Food Pairing:

Viognier is a great wine to pair with goat cheese and pear salad with a citrus vinaigrette . It is a versatile wine the compliments shellfish, poultry, and an array of great acidic cheeses.
